How can architecture create dignified, scalable, and sustainable living conditions in one of Nairobi’s most constrained informal settlements?
Leaves
INSTALLATION, LAND ART (2020)

Project Description

Leaves aim to reinterpret the falling of leaves as an interruption of a human touch to the natural biophilia. While amplifying human touch something unnatural emerges between the creases of the rocks, linear strips of leaves organized, trimmed, and tamed are in dialogue with natural materials. Their re-elaboration and reinterpretation through the lenses of an entirely human, and ethically human expressive language cultivate an interruption. Expressing the human mind when relating to nature Leaves shows a person's linearity, obsession with order, and control over rather than living with nature. We have been metaphorically kicked out of our garden of Eden by the virtue of our control over nature.
